Stephanie Janard is Senior Media Relations Manager for the University of Maryland Medical Center and the University of Maryland Children’s Hospital. Her service lines include Neurology, Neurosurgery, Pediatrics, and Women’s Health. In this role she helps publicize stories and thought leadership in media outlets that include People magazine, Popular Science, NBC, USA Today, The Washington Post, WJLA-ABC 7, WBFF-Fox 45, WJZ-CBS Baltimore, WBAL-NBC Baltimore, WMAR-ABC Baltimore, and dozens more outlets. Stephanie was also the Public Information Officer for the University of Maryland Medical System’s historic mission at the M&T Bank Stadium Mass Vaccination Site, which delivered almost a quarter of a million vaccines and received worldwide media coverage and visits by Vice President Kamala Harris, Governor Larry Hogan, Baltimore City Mayor Brandon Scott, and other officials. Stephanie cut her teeth in PR by working for over 5 years at one of the country’s top health care IT public relations agencies, Amendola Communications. She also wrote a weekly opinion column for her county’s newspaper of record that published in print and online every week for almost 6 years. Additionally, Stephanie has been a marketing and PR manager for two technology companies, including a Silicon Valley company that pioneered wireless mass communication. She received her BA in Marketing at Florida State University, where she was the Public Relations Officer for the Lady Spirithunters, the campus’s largest organization for women. Over the years, Stephanie has taken on many volunteer roles, from serving on a municipal parks and recreation committee board; the Vegetarian Society of Colorado board; and as a foster animal parent with the Misha May Foundation, the English Springer Rescue Association of America, and the Rutherford County Humane Society. She also participates in volunteer community engagement opportunities with the University of Maryland Medical Center, such as serving as a judge for a middle school’s Science Fair.
