PFNCA Exercise for Parkinson’s
This program brings together people impacted by Parkinson’s Disease to participate in various physical exercises aimed at improving posture, balance and circulation and increasing strength, muscle control and mobility. Various activities designed to engage participants mentally are also incorporated.
PFNCA Communication Club
This program establishes a wellness and prevention program for individuals with Parkinson’s Disease and their care partners with a focus on maintenance of communication skills. This program stresses the importance of speaking louder to be heard in social settings.
Chair Yoga for Parkinson’s
The chair yoga class provides a gentle and supportive environment for participants to improve their mobility and overall well-being. The class focuses on seated and modified standing yoga poses using the chair as a base of support, making it accessible to those with limited mobility or balance issues. Through a combination of breathwork, stretching, and gentle movements, participants can enhance their flexibility, reduce muscle stiffness, and improve their posture. Additionally, the class often incorporates mindfulness and somatic techniques to promote relaxation and mental clarity, offering holistic benefits to individuals managing Parkinson’s.
PFNCA Dance for Parkinson’s
This program provides a potentially transformative experience with the goal improving mobility and providing strong social interaction. For many the concept of graceful movements to music is greatly beneficial.
PFNCA Yoga for Parkinson’s
This program is designed to improve strength and balance through the practice of yoga.
PFNCA Boxing for Parkinson’s
This spirited boxing fitness program that helps improve balance, cardio, coordination, and strength. Through non-contact exercises, participants gain fitness benefit and a sense of comradery with their fellow boxers. No boxing experience required.
