Debora Broderick has been an educator for more than 20 years and is currently a lecturer at University of Pennsylvania and Villanova University, and is the Coordinator/Instructor for a high school dual enrollment program, Teacher Leadership Academy. She earned her Ed.D. from University of Pennsylvania and her MA from West Chester University of Pennsylvania. She completed her undergraduate studies at Pennsylvania State University. Her research interests include Teacher Education & Teacher Research, Critical Literacy, Multiliteracies, Culturally Responsive Pedagogy, Practitioner Inquiry, Arts Integration & Arts-Based Educational Research and Qualitative Research Methodologies. In addition to teaching, Deb is currently a Research Team Member with Frye Works. She acts as an education consultant on a Patient-Centered Outcomes Research project. For more than six years, she has been involved with TEDx, a program is designed to help communities, organizations and individuals to spark conversation and connection through local TED-like experiences. TEDx is a program of TED, a nonprofit devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks. In her role with TED and TEDx, she has developed tools to teach individuals to be stronger presenters. Deb’s father battled Parkinson’s.
