Chaitanya, who goes by ‘Chai’’ (pronounced Chay) is Program Manager for the Parkinson Foundation of the National Capita Area (PFNCA). She lives in Arlington, VA with her husband and their three children. Chai spent her childhood in New England, earning a BA from Boston University and a DO (Doctor of Osteopathy) from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. After completing her residency in Family Medicine at Brown University in 2007, Chai moved to Northern Virginia and practiced medicine at Georgetown University Medical Center before starting her family. While raising her small children and managing her busy household full time, Chai’s husband, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease at the age of 38. After his diagnosis, Chai and her husband are Parkinson’s advocates in their community and welcome outreach by other families living with Young Onset Parkinson’s Disease.
